Honey Benefits and ancient History

Honey is a sweet liquid produced by honey bees from the bee pollen through a process of regurgitation and evaporation. There are more than 300 types of honey different in source (colors) that bees use to collect pollen. From dandruff and hangover, to cough treatment, honey is a rich source of health benefits.Flower honey is obtained from the nectar of the colors of plants and trees that are collected and processed in the body of the worker's bees. Nectar is placed in the wax cells where it ferments and matures. Honey contains up to 75-79% fructose and glucose, 15-18% water. The remaining 10.3% are enzymes, minerals, sugar cane sugar, organic acids, vitamins, tannins.Aside from the seductive color and aroma, the honey has some proven superpowers. It has an unusual chemical composition that preserves it indefinitely without spoiling (ancient honey pots have been preserved and excavated in early Egyptian tombs). Honey has a uniquely low moisture content that prevents the growth of bacteria and microorganisms. In addition, bees add an enzyme, glucose oxidase, creating hydrogen peroxide as a by-product. According to the National Institute of Health, honey has hygroscopic, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory properties.

HistoryThe possible health benefits of honey consumption have been documented in ancient Greek, Roman, Vedic and Islamic texts, in the works of philosophers and scholars such as Aristotle (384-322 BC) and Aristoceneus (320 BC)Honey is consumed for thousands of years because of its health benefits. More than four thousand years ago, honey was used in traditional Ayurvedic medicine to treat significant imbalances in the body. Used to improve vision, weight loss, treatment of impotence and premature ejaculation, urinary tract disorders, bronchial asthma, diarrhea and nausea

.In ancient Egypt, more than five millennia ago, they also used copper. The ancient Greeks believed that consumption of honey could help them live longer.
Even the Prophet Mohammed praises the healing properties of honey, as it is even mentioned in the Qur'an. Ancient Egyptians, Greeks, Romans and a number of other cultures used regular honey to treat skin and eye problems.

Honey contentMeadows consist of glucose, fructose, vitamins and minerals such as niacin, riboflavin, pantothenic acid, calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium and zinc.◾ Fructose: 38.2%◾ Glucose: 31.3%◾ Maltose: 7.1%◾ Sucrose: 1.3%◾ Water: 17.2%◾ High sugars: 1.5%◾ Ash: 0.2%◾ Other / not defined: 3.2%Thanks to its low acidic pH (between 3.2 and 4.5), copper consumption prevents the development of bacteria, while its antioxidant ingredients help fight free radicals. The physical properties of honey differ depending on the specific flora used for its production as well as its water content. One tablespoon contains 64 calories. Honey is not suitable for children under 12 months, as it may contain bacteria that cause childhood botulism.

The health benefits of honeyIn the Bible (Old Testament) King Solomon says, "My son, eat honey because it is good," and there are a number of reasons to believe it.

Honey calms the coughAccording to a 2007 study of 139 children, it is found that buckwheat honey has a more mild effect on night cough, soothing sore membranes and improving the quality of sleep, even by cough suppressant dextromethorphan. Another study, published in Pediatrics, which includes 270 children aged 1-5 years with night cough due to common colds, those who consume two tablespoons of honey 30 minutes before bed, cough less often, lighter and sleep more calmly compared to those who did not consume honey.

Acid refluxSince honey is 125.9 times more viscous than distilled water at 37 degrees Celsius (at body temperature), honey may be beneficial in preventing GERD (GERD).

Ulcers and other gastrointestinal disordersRecent studies have shown that honey consumption can aid diseases such as ulcers and bacterial gastroenteritis. There are clinical studies using copper in oral rehydration in children and infants with gastroenteritis. The purpose of the research is twofold - to determine whether honey can influence the duration of acute diarrhea and assess the efficacy of honey as a glucose replacement in oral rehydration. It comes to the conclusion that honey shortens the duration of bacterial diarrhea in infants and young children.

In the case of wounds and burnsHoney also has antiseptic and antibacterial properties. It has been successfully applied to help with the treatment of chronic wounds. Positive honey effects have been reported in the treatment of wounds (topically treated). In any case, even if there is no improvement, we recommend that you try this natural method without side effects before resorting to antibiotics. In a study of 59 patients suffering from wounds and foot ulcers (80% of them were unable to cure with conventional treatment), positive results from treatment with unprocessed honey were observed. All but one of the cases showed remarkable improvement after topical application of honey. Wounds that are sterile from the start remain sterile until they are healed until infected wounds and ulcers pass into sterile within one week after the application of the honey.External application of copper has been shown to be as effective as conventional silver sulfadiazine treatment. This is believed to be due to the combination of the drying effect of simple sugars and the anti-bacterial properties of honey.

To treat burns and wounds, honey is applied directly or with a bandage that is usually changed every 24 to 48 hours. When used directly, 15 ml to 30 ml of honey is administered every 12 to 48 hours and covered with a sterile gauze or polyurethane dressing.

Honey to relieve the symptoms of allergiesAccording to some studies, honey can be useful for reducing the symptoms of seasonal allergies, as it has an anti-inflammatory effect and is known for its soothing effect on cough. Some experts believe that even if there are allergens in the honey, it degrades from stoma
ch acids and does not cause an immunological response. Honey may contain traces of pollen, but exposure to small amounts of allergens is a good help in the fight against allergic reactions.A placebo-controlled study involving 36 people with ocular allergies found that participants responded better to copper treatment than placebo.

Fighting with infections, antibacterial and antifungal propertiesIn 2010, scholars from the Academic Medical Center at the University of Amsterdam report that the ability of honey to destroy bacteria lies in a protein called defensin. Laboratory evidence suggests that honey prevents the growth of pathogenic microorganisms in the food chain, such as E. coli and Salmonella, and combats certain bacteria, including staphylococcus aureus and pseudomonas aeruginosis, both of which are common in hospitals and doctors cabinets.
Prevention of cancer and heart diseaseHoney contains flavonoids and antioxidants that help reduce the risk of certain types of cancer and cardiovascular disease.

For beautiful skin and for problematic scalp and dandruffIn a study involving patients with chronic seborrheic dermatitis and dandruff, participants were asked to use copper diluted with 10 percent warm water to treat problem areas and leave for three hours before rinsing with hot water. All patients experience pruritus relief, with peeling disappearing within one week. Skin lesions are completely cured within two weeks and patients show improvement in hair loss. With continued treatment, once weekly for six months, there were no signs of recurrence in patients.

The antibacterial properties of honey are particularly beneficial to the skin and, in combination with other active ingredients, can also have a moisturizing and nourishing effect.

Blood sugar regulationAlthough honey also contains simple sugars, the exact combination of fructose and glucose actually helps the body regulate blood sugar levels. Some types of honey have a low hypoglycemic index, which is an additional plus. Here the opinions are controversial, as other experts believe that sugar is sugar when it comes to diabetes and that the widely accepted claim that honey is better for diabetes is actually wrong.

OthersTo the great variety of useful qualities we can add memory stimulation. Honey consumption potentially prevents a low number of white blood cells caused by chemotherapy. It is recommended to take two teaspoons per day of therapeutic honey during chemotherapy. Honey consumption increases the body's ability to metabolize alcohol, thus limiting intoxication and decreasing blood alcohol levels. Honey is an excellent source of natural energy that is on a higher step than other conventional sources as it goes hand in hand with natural nutrients. Just add honey to the water you will consume during the workout. Ancient Olympic athletes consumed honey and dried figs to increase their efficiency.

Honey from ManukaManuka honey is produced in New Zealand from the nectar of Leptospermum scoparium. Known for its antibacterial action due to the compound
methylglyoxal (MgO). The higher the MgO content, the stronger the antibacterial activity of honey. A product with its participation was approved in 2007 for use in the treatment of skin wounds and ulcers.

Dr. Rowena Jenkins and colleagues at the University of Welsh Institute report that manuka honey destroys bacteria by eliminating key bacterial proteins. Some studies have shown that it can be effective in treating methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infections as well as in the fight against pathogens such as E. coli and salmonella. If it is established how Manuka honey and other types of honey act to heal the wounds and their anti-bacterial properties, then they can be used more often for primary treatment for bacterial infections that are resistant to many of available antibiotics. According to another study, manuka honey can prevent radiation-induced dermatitis in patients with breast cancer.

Cinnamon Benefits

Cinnamon is a superpowder with numerous health benefits. It is a small tree belonging to the Lauraceae family. The cinnamon tree is believed to originate in Sri Lanka, but is now grown in many tropical countries, including Mexico. The cinnamon is picked, dried and crushed to arrive to the end user as a spice, but cinnamon sticks can also be used. There are four main varieties of cinnamon: Cinnamomum cassia, Ceylon cinnamomum, Indonesian cinnamomum and Vietnamese cinnamomum (Saigon cinnamomum). Ceylon Cinnamon (Ceylon Cinnamon), also known as "Genuine Cinnamon", differs substantially from the most common Cinnamomum cassia or is known as Chinese Cinnamon, Ceylon Cinnamon contains a minimal amount of coumarin, has a delicate sweet flavor, taste and a saturated light brown color. Ceylon cinnamon is considered the best quality cinnamon, which brings numerous benefits in everyday use.   True Ceylon Cinnamon differs substantially with the other three types in a n
